Siccasan® eye gel contains 2% dexpanthenol and is used to support wound healing of the cornea and conjunctiva. Dexpanthenol is the alcoholic precursor of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which is involved in numerous metabolic processes as a component of coenzyme A. In cases of damaged skin or mucous membranes, dexpanthenol can support the increased need for pantothenic acid.

Areas of application

Siccasan® eye gel is used for:

• Therapy of non-inflammatory diseases of the cornea, including corneal dystrophies, corneal degenerations, as well as recurrent corneal erosions and lesions, especially in contact lens wearers

• Supplementary treatment to support the healing process in corneal and conjunctival damage, as well as in chemical and burn injuries

• Supportive application as an adjuvant to a specific therapy in infectious corneal processes of bacterial, viral or mycotic origin

The application and dosage depend on the medical prescription or the package insert.

Hypersensitivity reactions may occur during use. If persistent or unusual symptoms occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

Important notes

After opening, Siccasan® eye gel should not be used for longer than 6 weeks. Use in infectious corneal processes is only supportive to a specific treatment.
