Castor oil from certified cultivation is obtained by careful cold-pressing of the seeds of the evergreen Ricinus communis shrub. These seeds contain 40-50% oil. The resulting oil is colorless to light yellow and has a typical, mild scent.

The seed has an oil content of 40-50%. Cold-pressed castor oil is colorless to light yellow and has a characteristic odor. The main components of castor oil include ricinoleic acid (88.2%), oleic acid (approx. 4%), linoleic acid (4.5%), stearic acid (1.3%), palmitic acid (1.2%) as well as other fatty acids.
