Acid-related complaints such as heartburn often arise after rich meals, due to stress or certain foods like coffee, sweets or fruit juices.

Typical symptoms include a burning sensation behind the breastbone and acid reflux, caused by the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus.

Reloxan® chewable tablets offer fast and targeted relief from these symptoms.

Dual mechanism of action

Reloxan® combines two mechanisms of action:

Neutralisation of stomach acid

• Calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate reduce excess stomach acid
• Magnesium carbonate acts quickly
• Calcium carbonate provides a longer-lasting effect

Protection of the mucous membrane

• Prickly pear extract (Opuntia) forms a protective film on the irritated mucous membrane of the esophagus

Dosage and administration

Adults and adolescents from 12 years:

• 1 chewable tablet as needed
• maximum up to 4 times daily

Time of administration:

• preferably 1 hour after meals
• alternatively before bedtime or between meals

Application:

• Suck or chew the tablet

Notes:

• Interval to other medicines: 1–2 hours
• Do not use for more than 30 days without medical consultation
• During pregnancy and breastfeeding, consult a doctor or pharmacist

Ingredients

Active ingredients per chewable tablet:

• Calcium carbonate 450 mg
• Magnesium carbonate 50 mg
• Prickly pear extract (Opuntia) 75 mg

Excipients:

• Sorbitol
• Corn starch
• Maltodextrin
• Passion fruit flavor
• Magnesium stearate

Note:

• Contains up to 0.56 g sorbitol per tablet (may have a laxative effect if consumed in excess)

Side effects

Reloxan® is generally well tolerated.

Possible side effects:

• Gastrointestinal complaints (e.g. loose stools or diarrhea at higher doses)
• rarely hypersensitivity reactions
