Regaine® 5% solution – Support for hereditary hair loss

Hereditary hair loss is the most common form of hair loss in men. Typically, hair loss begins in the temple area and develops over time into receding hairlines or thinning hair on the top of the head.

Regaine® 5% solution has been specially developed to treat hereditary hair loss in men.

The active ingredient minoxidil helps hair follicles to re-enter the growth phase more quickly and can thus slow down hair loss and promote new hair growth.

How does Regaine® work?

In hereditary hair loss, the growth phase of the hair shortens and the resting phase lengthens. As a result, the hair gradually becomes thinner and grows back weaker.

Minoxidil can:

• lengthen the growth phase

• shorten the resting phase

• stimulate hair growth

• increase hair diameter

• stabilize the course of hair loss

First visible results may appear after approximately 16 weeks of regular use.

The so-called "shedding effect"

In the first few weeks after starting treatment, temporary increased hair loss may occur. Older, no longer active hairs fall out so that new hairs can grow back.

This so-called "shedding effect" usually occurs after 2 to 6 weeks and is often a first sign of efficacy.

Important note on long-term use

Since hereditary hair loss is genetically determined, Regaine® should be used continuously to maintain its effect.

The therapy is only effective during regular use.

Application & Dosage

Apply 1 ml of solution to the affected areas of the dry scalp morning and evening.

Gently spread the solution starting from the center of the affected areas.

The maximum daily amount of 2 ml must not be exceeded.

Wash hands thoroughly after use and avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.

Applicators for targeted application

• Pump spray applicator: suitable for larger bald patches

• Pump spray applicator with extended tip: ideal for smaller scalp areas and longer hair

• 50 mg minoxidil per ml solution

Excipients:

• Ethanol

• Purified water

• Propylene glycol

Side effects

Like all medicines, Regaine® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Possible side effects include:

• Itching or redness of the scalp

• Dry or flaky skin

• Burning or irritation

• Temporary increased hair loss at the beginning of treatment

• Headaches

Rarely, systemic side effects such as dizziness, palpitations or changes in blood pressure may occur.

In case of severe skin reactions or unusual complaints, stop use and seek medical advice.
