For colds and dry nasal mucous membranes – for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over

Otrivin® 0.1% nasal gel contains xylometazoline and has a decongestant effect on the nasal mucous membrane. It facilitates nasal breathing and the drainage of secretions and is particularly suitable for dry noses and colds with crust formation.

The effect begins within approximately 2 minutes and can last for up to 12 hours.

Indications

For the treatment of a blocked nose due to a cold, hay fever, allergic rhinitis or sinusitis. In case of middle ear inflammation, Otrivin® supports the decongestion of the mucous membrane in the nasopharyngeal area.

Recommended Dosage

Adolescents aged 12 years and over and adults: Instill 1 drop of gel as deeply as possible into each nostril once, up to a maximum of 3 times daily. There should generally be an interval of at least 8 hours between two applications.

The last application should preferably be in the evening before going to bed.

Before use, blow your nose thoroughly. For adolescents up to 14 years of age, use should be supervised by parents or adults.

Duration of Use

Do not use for longer than 7 days, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor. After one week of treatment, a break of several days must be taken.

If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 1 week, a doctor should be consulted.

Active ingredients / Composition

1 g of gel contains:

• 1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride

1 drop corresponds to approx. 30 mg of gel.

Other ingredients: Benzalkonium chloride, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, hypromellose (4000 cps), aroma, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, edetate disodium dihydrate, sorbitol solution 70% and purified water.

Important Notes

Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

For hygienic reasons, each dosage unit should only be used by one person.

The medicine contains benzalkonium chloride.
