Otodolor® direkt is a preservative-free medical device for relieving discomfort in the outer ear canal. The eardrops contain only glycerol (glycerin), which, due to its nourishing and water-binding properties, can soothe irritation, swelling, and the resulting earaches.

Especially after swimming, bathing, or diving, moisture in the ear canal can promote the development of so-called swimmer's ear. Wind, chlorinated water, excessive ear cleaning, foreign bodies, or frequent wearing of headphones can also impair the natural protective film of the ear canal and cause irritation.

Glycerol adheres well to the skin, nourishes the outer ear canal, and draws excess fluid from swollen tissue through its natural osmotic effect. This can reduce swelling and relieve pressure on the tissue, contributing to the alleviation of earaches.

Otodolor® direkt is suitable for both treating acute symptoms and for preventive use before and after bathing or diving. The product is free of preservatives and can be used by adults and children.

Application

Depending on need, instill 2 to 3 body-temperature drops into the outer ear canal of the affected ear. Tilt the head to the side so that the drops can work effectively. Afterwards, the ear can be loosely closed with cotton wool.

For prevention, use before and after bathing or diving is recommended.

There are generally no time restrictions for the frequency and duration of use.

Hearing aid wearers should apply Otodolor® direkt approximately one hour before inserting the hearing aid.

If symptoms do not subside after a few days or if fever occurs in addition, a medical examination is required.

Side Effects

Otodolor® direkt is generally very well tolerated. In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions to glycerol may occur. The product must not be used if you have a known allergy to glycerol or a perforated eardrum. If earaches persist, or if fever or unclear symptoms occur, medical advice should be sought.
