NYDA® Lice and Nit Comb

For the diagnosis and supportive treatment of head lice infestation (Pediculosis capitis). The NYDA® Lice and Nit Comb has particularly closely spaced, long metal prongs and allows thorough combing of the hair.

What is the NYDA® Lice and Nit Comb?

The NYDA® Lice and Nit Comb was specially developed for checking hair for head lice and nits and for combing them out after a lice treatment.

Thanks to the particularly closely spaced metal prongs, lice and nits can be caught when combing. After each comb stroke, the comb can be easily checked, making it easier to detect a possible head lice infestation.

After appropriate treatment, dead head lice and nits can be thoroughly removed from the hair.

For the diagnosis of head lice

The lice and nit comb facilitates the systematic examination of the hair for a possible head lice infestation.

The hair is carefully combed through strand by strand. After each comb, the comb can be checked for lice or nits.

Particular care should be taken to examine the areas behind the ears, at the temples and in the neck, as head lice often reside there.

For the removal of lice and nits

The NYDA® Lice and Nit Comb can also be used as an adjunct to head lice treatment.

After treatment, dead lice and nits can be combed out of the hair. The long and closely spaced metal prongs enable thorough capture of the hair.

Particularly closely spaced metal prongs

The NYDA® Lice and Nit Comb has long metal prongs with a particularly small gap.

This means that even small lice and nits adhering to the hair can be better detected when combing.

The ends of the metal prongs are rounded so that the comb can be guided over the scalp as gently as possible despite the close tooth spacing.

Angled shape

The special angled shape of the comb makes it easier to handle and enables controlled combing of the hair from the roots to the tips.

Application

Carefully comb the hair strand by strand.

Guide the comb from the roots to the tips of the hair if possible. Pay particular attention to the areas behind the ears, at the temples and in the neck.

After each comb stroke, check the NYDA® Lice and Nit Comb for lice or nits and clean it if necessary.

After treatment for head lice, dead lice and nits can be removed from the hair in this way.

Cleaning

After use, carefully remove hair, lice and nits from the comb and clean it hygienically.

If several people are affected, particular attention should be paid to thorough cleaning between applications.

Important notes

The NYDA® Lice and Nit Comb is used for the detection and mechanical removal of lice and nits.

If head lice infestation is found, appropriate treatment should be carried out according to the application instructions of the pediculicide used.

To detect a new infestation early, careful checking of the hair is recommended according to the recommendations for the respective lice treatment.

Side effects and tolerability

No typical side effects are expected with proper and careful use.

If the scalp is sensitive or already irritated, the comb should be used particularly carefully. Excessive pressure or pulling can mechanically irritate the scalp.
