Herbal medicine for short-term use in case of occasional constipation

Midro® Tea is an herbal laxative with senna leaves for the short-term treatment of occasional constipation (obstipation).

The effect usually occurs after 8–12 hours. Therefore, it is recommended to take it in the evening.

Area of application

For short-term use in case of occasional constipation in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

Active ingredient

1 measuring spoon (1.6 g) of tea contains:

• 1–1.2 g cut senna leaves

• corresponding to a maximum of 30 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivatives

Further ingredients

• Caraway

• Licorice root

• Peppermint leaves

• Mallow blossoms

• Strawberry leaves

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:

¼ to a maximum of 1 measuring spoon once daily after dinner.

Always use the lowest effective dose required to achieve a soft, formed stool.

The maximum daily dose of 1 measuring spoon (1.6 g) must not be exceeded.

Application

Midro® Tea can be taken in two ways:

• Swallow the measured amount of tea with a little liquid.

• Infuse with cold or lukewarm water, let it steep for about 20 minutes, then strain and drink. The tea can be sweetened to taste.

Since the laxative effect occurs after about 8–12 hours, it is suitable for taking in the evening before going to bed.

Important notes

Midro® Tea is intended exclusively for short-term use. Long-lasting or frequently recurring constipation should be clarified by a doctor.

Not intended for children under 12 years of age.

In case of severe or unclear abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or suspected intestinal obstruction, the medicine must not be used without medical clarification.

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.
