Product Description

Kamillosan® Mouth Spray is a herbal medicine containing the active ingredients of an alcoholic chamomile flower extract, chamomile oil, and peppermint oil. It is used for the targeted treatment of inflammatory changes in the oral cavity.

Thanks to the practical spray head, affected areas of the oral mucosa and gums can be treated precisely.

Areas of Application

Kamillosan® Mouth Spray is used for:

• Inflammation of the gums (gingivitis)

• Inflammation of the periodontium (periodontitis)

• Inflammation of the oral mucosa

• Discomfort after tooth extractions

• Mucosal irritation caused by dentures

The medicine is intended for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.

Active Ingredients

Kamillosan® Mouth Spray contains:

• alcoholic chamomile flower extract

• chamomile oil

• peppermint oil

Application and Dosage

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over:

Spray 2 puffs 3 times daily directly onto the inflamed areas in the oral cavity.

Do not spray into eyes or nose.

If symptoms have not improved or have worsened after 5 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Use in Children

Children under 6 years of age must not use Kamillosan® Mouth Spray due to its menthol content.

For children between 6 and 12 years of age, use is not recommended due to a lack of data.

Contraindications and Important Notes

Kamillosan® Mouth Spray must not be used:

• in case of hypersensitivity to chamomile or other Compositae, e.g., arnica

• in case of hypersensitivity to anise or other Umbelliferae, e.g., celery

• in case of hypersensitivity to anethole or peppermint oil

• in infants and children up to 6 years of age

• in case of bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases with pronounced airway hypersensitivity

In case of shortness of breath or fever, immediate medical attention is required.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

As insufficient data is available, use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

Alcohol Content

Kamillosan® Mouth Spray contains approximately 28 mg of ethanol per single dose. This may temporarily cause a burning sensation on damaged or inflamed mucous membranes.

Other Important Ingredients

The preparation contains, among other things:

• Propylene glycol

• Macrogolglycerol ricinoleate

• Macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate

• Anise oil with limonene and linalool

Limonene and linalool can cause allergic reactions.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, Kamillosan® Mouth Spray can cause side effects:

• Frequent: local irritation or burning after application

• Rare: coughing fit due to inhalation

• Very rare: hypersensitivity reactions of the skin, e.g., contact dermatitis

• Very rare: severe allergic reactions such as asthma, facial swelling, circulatory collapse or allergic shock may occur
