Kaloba® Drops – herbal help for colds and bronchitis

Kaloba® Drops contain the proven extract from the South African geranium (Pelargonium sidoides), a South African medicinal plant traditionally used for respiratory infections.

The special herbal extract EPs® 7630 is one of the world's most thoroughly studied herbal active ingredients for colds and bronchitis.

Kaloba® acts:

This relieves cold symptoms and facilitates the expectoration of tenacious mucus.

Dosage

Application should ideally begin at the first signs of a cold.

Children from 1 to 5 years:

• 10 drops 3 times daily

Children from 6 to 11 years:

• 20 drops 3 times daily

Adolescents from 12 years and adults:

• 30 drops 3 times daily

Take the drops with a little liquid.

It is recommended to continue use for 2–3 days after symptoms have subsided.

Active ingredients

Liquid extract from pelargonium root (Pelargonii radix), DER 1:8–10 (EPs® 7630), extraction solvent ethanol 11% (m/m).

10 g (= 9.73 ml) solution contain 8.0 g liquid extract from pelargonium root.

1 ml corresponds to 21 drops.

Excipients

Glycerol 85%, ethanol 96%.

Total ethanol content: 12% v/v.

Notes

• Not recommended for children under 1 year
• Contains alcohol
• Use in young children only after consulting a doctor

Side effects

Like all medicines, Kaloba® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Possible side effects include:

• Gastrointestinal complaints
• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Abdominal pain
• Allergic reactions
• Skin rashes

In rare cases, liver function disorders have been observed.

If symptoms persist or unusual symptoms occur, medical advice should be sought.
