Dosage

Administration should begin as soon as possible at the first symptoms of a cold.

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over:

Children aged 6 to 11 years:

• 1 film-coated tablet 2 times a day

Take the film-coated tablets with sufficient liquid.

Treatment should be continued for a few days after symptoms have subsided.

Active ingredients

20 mg Pelargonium sidoides root dry extract (4–25:1, EPs® 7630), extracting agent ethanol 11 % (m/m).

Excipients

Talc, sorbic acid, dimethicone, highly dispersed anhydrous silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, precipitated silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, red iron oxide, maltodextrin, alpha-octadecyl-omega-hydroxypoly(oxyethylene)-5, macrogol 1500.

Notes

• Not suitable for children under 6 years
• Contains lactose
• Kaloba® drops or syrup are available for children between 1 and 5 years of age

Side effects

Like all medicines, Kaloba® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Possible side effects include:

• Gastrointestinal complaints
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Allergic reactions
• Skin rashes

Liver dysfunction has been observed in rare cases.
