ICHTHOLAN® 50%

Indications

For the maturation of boils and abscesses.

For supportive treatment of gonarthrosis as well as bruises and sprains.

Dosage and Administration

Apply the ointment knife-back thick to the affected skin area and cover with a dressing.

The dressing should be changed daily. Before reapplying, any remaining ointment residues must be thoroughly washed off.

Application as a continuous dressing for musculoskeletal diseases

Apply Ichtholan® 50% ointment and cover with a gauze bandage. Place a wide cover of cellulose layers or paper bandage over it. Then fix with a starch or Elastoplast bandage.

The dressing can remain in place for up to 3 days. If further treatment is needed, the treatment can be repeated after removing the dressing and cleaning the skin.

Effect

Ammonium bituminosulfonate supports the maturation of inflammatory skin processes and is traditionally used for boils and abscessing skin changes.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, this preparation can also cause side effects. Skin irritations or hypersensitivity reactions are possible, especially with sensitive skin.

Active ingredient:
50,000 mg ammonium bituminosulfonate per 100 g of ointment.

Other ingredients:
Purified water, yellow petrolatum, wool wax, microcrystalline hydrocarbons (C40–C60), butylhydroxytoluene.
