Ibucomp 200 mg/30 mg film-coated tablets

Areas of application
For the symptomatic relief of pain, fever, flu-like infections, and blocked nose and sinuses.

Ibucomp contains the active ingredients ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, which causes nasal decongestion.

Ibuprofen has pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing effects.
Pseudoephedrine acts on the blood vessels in the nose to relieve a blocked nose.

Ibucomp is used for the symptomatic relief of nasal congestion accompanied by headache and/or fever in flu-like infections.

Ibucomp is used in adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over.

Only use this combination medicine if you have both a blocked nose and pain or fever. If you only have one of these symptoms, do not use this medicine.

If you do not feel better or worse after 3 days with fever or after 5 days with pain, contact your doctor.

If the use of this medicine is required for more than 3 days in adolescents aged 15 years and over, or if symptoms worsen, a doctor must be consulted.

Dosage, method and duration of use
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist.

Ibucomp is for oral use only.

Recommended dosage
Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over:
1 film-coated tablet, if necessary every 4–6 hours. For more severe symptoms, 2 film-coated tablets, if necessary every 6–8 hours.

The maximum daily dose of 6 film-coated tablets must not be exceeded.

Take the film-coated tablets whole with water.

Use in patients with impaired liver or kidney function is not recommended.

Use in children and adolescents
Ibucomp must not be used in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.

Duration of use
This medicine is intended for short-term use only. Take the lowest necessary dose for the shortest possible period.

Adults: do not use for longer than 5 days.
Adolescents aged 15 to 17 years: do not use for longer than 3 days.

If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor.

Note on overdose
If more Ibucomp has been taken than recommended or if children have accidentally taken the medicine, a doctor or hospital should be contacted immediately.

Possible symptoms of overdose include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, headache, ringing in the ears, confusion, drowsiness, palpitations, convulsions, dizziness, breathing problems, or blood in the urine.

Ingredients
Active ingredients:
200 mg ibuprofen and 30 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (equivalent to 24.6 mg pseudoephedrine).

Other ingredients:
Anhydrous highly dispersed silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium stearate, corn starch, hypromellose, macrogol 400, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), yellow iron oxide (E172).

Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, abdominal pain or indigestion can occur frequently. Headaches, dizziness, sleep disturbances or nervousness are occasionally possible. Allergic reactions, skin rashes, palpitations or increased blood pressure can rarely occur. In the event of severe side effects or hypersensitivity reactions, stop taking the medicine and seek medical advice immediately.
