Sore throats often begin with an unpleasant scratchiness in the throat. Inflammation in the mouth and throat can then lead to pain, difficulty swallowing, and a compromised sense of well-being.

Sore throats often occur as part of a cold or flu. However, they can also occur with other illnesses and be associated with, for example, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, or laryngitis. Several of these inflammations can exist simultaneously.

How does GeloTonsil® work?

GeloTonsil® gargle gel works physically.

When gargling, the affected mucous membrane is intensely moistened. At the same time, pathogens and other particles are mechanically removed from the surface of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

The special gel-like consistency ensures that GeloTonsil® forms a protective film on the irritated mucous membrane.

This gel film provides the mucous membrane with moisture, protects it from drying out, and shields it from further external irritants. This can alleviate sore throats and difficulty swallowing and care for the stressed mucous membrane.

Dual action against sore throats and difficulty swallowing

GeloTonsil® combines two active principles:

1. When gargling, pathogens are mechanically removed from the mucous membrane.

2. Subsequently, the gel forms a protective and moisturizing film on the irritated oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

Thus, GeloTonsil® addresses both the cleansing and protection of the stressed mucous membrane.

Mechanically remove pathogens

Due to its viscous formulation, GeloTonsil® can be gargled pleasantly and gently.

During gargling, pathogens, including viruses, as well as other particles, are mechanically dislodged and removed from the surface of the mucous membrane.

Relieve sore throats and difficulty swallowing

GeloTonsil® covers the inflamed and irritated mucous membrane with a protective gel film.

This film provides moisture and protects the mucous membrane from further drying out and external irritants.

Protection and care of the mucous membrane

The oral and pharyngeal mucosa forms an important natural protective barrier against external influences.

GeloTonsil® supports the mucous membrane through intensive moisturizing and the formation of a protective gel film. In addition, the gargle gel contains dexpanthenol as a nourishing ingredient.

Xanthan and Hyaluronic Acid

Xanthan and sodium hyaluronate are essential components of the special gel formulation.

Both substances can bind water and thus contribute to the gel-like consistency of GeloTonsil®.

Hyaluronic acid has a pronounced water-binding capacity and supports the moisturizing of the mucous membrane. At the same time, it improves the adhesion of the protective gel film to the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

This ensures that the moisturizing and protective effect remains on the mucous membrane for longer.

Dexpanthenol

GeloTonsil® also contains dexpanthenol.

Dexpanthenol is used for its nourishing properties and complements the moisturizing protective effect of the gargle gel on the stressed oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

Application

GeloTonsil® is used as a gargle gel.

The gel is gargled in the mouth and throat area. The gargling process distributes the viscous formulation on the mucous membrane, mechanically removes pathogens, and then forms a protective film.

Children should only use GeloTonsil® when they can gargle safely.

Use in children

GeloTonsil® is suitable for children from 3 years of age, provided they can gargle safely.

Safe gargling is important so that the product can be used as intended.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

GeloTonsil® gargle gel is also suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

In case of uncertainties or persistent symptoms, medical or pharmaceutical advice can be sought.

Suitable for diabetics

GeloTonsil® gargle gel is sugar-free and therefore also suitable for diabetics.

Sweeteners include xylitol and sucralose.

In case of severe sore throat, high fever, breathing problems, pronounced difficulty swallowing, or persistent or worsening symptoms, medical clarification should be sought.

Side effects and tolerability

GeloTonsil® has a mild, non-irritating taste and is developed for use on the sensitive oral and pharyngeal mucosa.
