Traditional herbal medicine for mild menopausal symptoms

femidoc® MENOPAUSE DUO is a traditional herbal medicine for the relief of mild menopausal symptoms (climacteric), such as hot flashes, sweating, and emotional lability.

The combination contains dry extracts of St. John's wort and black cohosh rhizome. The medicine is registered for the stated area of application solely based on long-standing use.

Traditional herbal medicine for the relief of mild menopausal symptoms (climacteric), such as hot flashes, sweating, and emotional lability.

The application is based solely on long-standing use.

Recommended Use

Adult women take 1 coated tablet once daily.

Take the coated tablet whole with sufficient liquid, for example a glass of water, always at the same time of day, either in the morning or evening.

The effect does not occur immediately. Therapeutic effects may appear after approximately 2 weeks of treatment.

If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 6 weeks, a doctor should be consulted. The medicine should not be used for longer than 6 months without medical advice.

Ingredients / Composition

1 coated tablet contains as active ingredients:

300 mg quantified dry extract of St. John's wort (Hyperici herba), drug-extract ratio 3.5–6:1, corresponding to:

• 0.10–0.30 % hypericins, calculated as hypericin

• at least 6 % flavonoids, calculated as rutoside

• at most 6 % hyperforin

Extractant: Ethanol 60 % (m/m).

6.4 mg dry extract of black cohosh rhizome (Cimicifugae rhizoma), drug-extract ratio 4.5–8.5:1.

Extractant: Ethanol 60 % (V/V).

Other ingredients: Maltodextrin, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, cellulose powder, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), magnesium stearate, hypromellose, sucrose, talc, calcium carbonate (E 170), tragacanth, acacia gum, glucose syrup (dry substance), titanium dioxide (E 171), iron oxide yellow (E 172), vanillin, white beeswax, carnauba wax, and shellac.

Important Information

There is no indication for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 6 weeks, a doctor should be consulted. Use beyond 6 months should only be done under medical supervision.

The medicine contains St. John's wort. St. John's wort can cause interactions with numerous medicines. Therefore, if you are taking other medications at the same time, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.

St. John's wort can also increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight. Intensive UV radiation should be taken into account as per the package leaflet.

The medicine contains, among other things, lactose, sucrose, and glucose.
