Esberitox® Forte Tablets

Areas of application
Herbal medicine for the supportive treatment and prevention of recurrent common colds in the upper respiratory tract.

Esberitox forte is used in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.

If you do not feel better or worse after 10 days, consult your doctor.

Dosage, method and duration of use
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Recommended dosage
Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age:
1 tablet twice daily.

Use in children
This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age due to its strength. Tablets with a lower strength are available for children aged 4 to 12 years.

Method of use
For oral use.

Take Esberitox forte in the morning and evening with sufficient liquid, preferably with a glass of water.

The tablets can also be chewed.

Treatment should begin at the first signs of a cold.

Duration of use
If you do not feel better or worse after 10 days, consult your doctor.

Esberitox forte should not be taken continuously for longer than 8 weeks.

Note on overdose
No cases of overdose are known.

Note on forgotten dose
Do not take a double dose if you have forgotten to take the previous dose.

Ingredients

Active ingredient:
1 tablet contains 16 mg dry extract (DEV 4–9:1) from a mixture of Baptisia rootstock (Baptisiae rhizoma), purple coneflower root (Echinaceae purpureae radix), pale coneflower root (Echinaceae pallidae radix) and arborvitae tips and leaves (Thujae occidentalis herba) in a ratio of 4.92:1.85:1.85:1.
Extracting agent: ethanol 30% (V/V).

Other ingredients:
Mannitol, Betadex, lemon flavour, glycerol dibehenate, magnesium stearate, citric acid monohydrate, saccharin sodium.

Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Hypersensitivity reactions such as rash, itching or gastrointestinal complaints may occasionally occur. Allergic reactions are possible in rare cases. If hypersensitivity reactions occur, the medicine should be discontinued and medical advice sought.
