When eyes are dry and irritated

Many people suffer from dry eyes. Typical symptoms include burning, itching, a foreign body sensation, or irritated eyes. Common causes include long hours of screen work, dry heating air, air-conditioned rooms, fine dust, or wearing contact lenses.

Dr. Böhm® optico eye drops were developed in collaboration with the Graz Eye Clinic and provide intensive and long-lasting hydration of the eye surface. The drops relieve irritation and support the eye's natural protective film.

Patented formula for long-lasting effect

Unlike many conventional eye drops, the moisturizing effect of Dr. Böhm® optico remains particularly long-lasting. This is due to the special combination of highly concentrated sodium hyaluronate, Euphrasia extract, and mannitol.

This unique composition protects the moisture film from external influences such as UV light, ozone, or fine dust and prolongs the retention time of the drops on the eye surface. The formulation is protected by European Patent EP 2,815,740 B1.

Particularly well tolerated

The composition of Dr. Böhm® optico is based on natural tear fluid, ensuring very good tolerability – even for sensitive eyes.

The eye drops are:

• phosphate-free
• suitable for long-term use
• suitable for soft and hard contact lenses
• also suitable for children

Mechanism of action

Sodium hyaluronate stabilizes the natural tear film and provides intensive moisture. Euphrasia extract (eyebright) and mannitol help to maintain the protective moisture film for longer.

The natural isotonicity with sodium chloride and the special carbonate buffer system with glucose largely correspond to the physiological composition of human tear fluid. This makes the drops particularly pleasant and well tolerated.

Area of application

For intensive and long-lasting hydration of dry, irritated, and strained eyes.

Dosage and application

Dr. Böhm® optico can be used several times daily and continuously as needed.

Instill 1–2 drops into each eye as needed.

To use, separate and open a single dispenser from the strip by twisting off the top cap. Tilt your head slightly back, look up, and gently pull down the lower eyelid. Then instill the drops into the lower conjunctival sac.

Avoid contact between the dropper opening and the eye.

The gel-like liquid spreads evenly over the eye surface by blinking several times – even for contact lens wearers.

Storage

Store at 2 °C to 25 °C.
Protect from frost.
Store unopened single dispensers protected from light in their original carton.

Side effects

Dr. Böhm® optico eye drops are generally very well tolerated. In rare cases, temporary mild irritations or intolerances to individual ingredients may occur.
