Betadona® Wound Spray

Product Description

Betadona® Wound Spray is a powder spray that is particularly easy to apply to wounds.

The spray continuously releases iodine, which is well-tolerated by skin, mucous membranes, and wounds. The free iodine inactivates and kills pathogens. The iodine discolors during its action. If the product loses its yellow-brown color, it should be reapplied as needed.

Betadona® Wound Spray is particularly suitable for:

Cuts
Contaminated wounds
Deeper abrasions
Lacerations
Burst blisters
Chafed toes

Application

Spray onto the affected area once to several times daily until it is visibly covered with the golden-brown povidone-iodine powder.

If discoloration occurs, reapplication should be done.

Shake the spray can vigorously before use. Hold the can upright and spray from a distance of about 15 cm.

The spray forms a dry film on the treated area and is easily washable. If necessary, a bandage can then be applied.

Notes

For newborns under 6 months, Betadona® Wound Spray should only be used after a strict benefit-risk assessment by a doctor and only to a very limited extent.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Betadona® Wound Spray can cause side effects. Skin irritations or hypersensitivity reactions are possible.

Active Ingredients & Ingredients

Active ingredient:
25 mg povidone-iodine complex per 1 g

Contains 0.25% available iodine.

Other ingredients:
Isopropyl myristate, n-pentane, propane-butane/isobutane 25:75 suspended in liquefied propellant gas.
