Bepanthen® Wound and Healing Ointment

To support recovery from mild injuries and skin irritations.

The ingredient dexpanthenol is rapidly converted into pantothenic acid, a B-complex vitamin, in the skin cells. Pantothenic acid promotes the formation and regeneration of skin and mucous membranes.

Bepanthen® Wound and Healing Ointment supports the healing of skin and mucous membranes in minor injuries such as abrasions, minor burns or skin irritations, for example after sunburn.

In addition, the ointment is suitable for:

• The prevention and treatment of sore nipples in breastfeeding mothers.
• The care and protection of sensitive baby skin.
• The prevention and treatment of dry, chapped or brittle skin.

Application

For external use.

The ointment is applied thinly to the clean wound, damaged skin or mucous membrane once or several times a day.

For sore nipples:
Apply after each breastfeeding session.

In infant care:
Apply after each diaper change or when drying off.

The duration of application depends on the type and course of the symptoms.

Ingredients

Active ingredient:
1 g of ointment contains 50 mg dexpanthenol (5%).

Other ingredients:
Protegin X, Adeps lanae (lanolin, wool wax) E913, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, bleached wax, white petrolatum, almond oil, paraffin oil, purified water.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this product can have side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

Occasionally, the following side effects may occur:

• Skin irritations
• Redness
• Itching
• Contact allergic reactions

The ingredients lanolin, cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol can cause localized skin irritations.
