Alpinamed® Cough Suppressant Syrup

Herbal medicine for the relief of coughs in catarrh of the respiratory tract. Alpinamed® Cough Suppressant Syrup contains a high-quality dry extract from ivy leaves, which dilates the bronchi, loosens tenacious mucus, and thus facilitates expectoration.

The herbal active ingredient from ivy supports the natural cleansing of the respiratory tract and helps to liquefy viscous secretions. At the same time, the cough reflex is alleviated and the bronchi can relax. Especially in cases of productive cough with mucus, the syrup helps to clear the airways and support the healing process.

Alpinamed® Cough Suppressant Syrup is suitable for the whole family and can be used in infants from 1 month of age. The syrup is alcohol-free and produced in Austria.

Application and Dosage

Adults and adolescents from 12 years:
5 ml 3 times daily

Children from 6 to 11 years:
5 ml 2 times daily

Toddlers from 1 to 5 years:
2.5 ml 2 times daily

Infants from 1 to 11 months:
2.5 ml once daily

Use in infants should only be done after consulting a doctor.
For infants under 1 month, use is not recommended due to lack of data.

Method of Administration

For oral use. Shake well before use.

A dosing aid is included for exact dosing. After use, it should be rinsed with warm water and dried.

Duration of Application

The duration of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the symptoms. Even in milder cases, the syrup should be taken for at least one week. After the symptoms have subsided, further use for 2–3 days is recommended.

If symptoms do not improve or worsen after one week, a doctor should be consulted.

Storage

Do not store above 25 °C.
Store in the original packaging and keep the container tightly closed.
Protect from light.

Usable for 3 months after first opening.

7 mg ivy leaf dry extract (DEV 5–7.5:1), extracting agent: ethanol 30 % (m/m)

Other ingredients

Fructose, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate (E211), povidone K30, propylene glycol, cherry juice aroma, purified water, simethicone.

Side effects

Alpinamed® Cough Suppressant Syrup is generally well-tolerated.

Occasionally, gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain or diarrhea may occur.

In sensitive individuals, allergic reactions to ivy or other ingredients may occur.

The included preservatives potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate can occasionally cause hypersensitivity reactions.
