Indications

For the local treatment of herpes labialis infections.

Dosage, Method, and Duration of Use

Aciclobene "ratiopharm" cold sore cream should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas 5 times a day at 4-hour intervals, ensuring all lesions are adequately covered.

Treatment with Aciclobene "ratiopharm" cold sore cream should begin as early as possible after the onset of the infection. In case of recurrent infection, treatment should start in the prodromal stage, when a feeling of tension and itching occurs.

The duration of treatment is 5 days. In some cases, treatment may be extended up to 10 days, depending on the healing process.

Side Effects

Skin and Subcutaneous Tissue Disorders

Uncommon:
Temporary burning or stinging after applying Aciclobene "ratiopharm" cold sore cream, mild dryness or flaking of the skin, and itching.

Rare:
Erythema, contact dermatitis after use. Contact dermatitis can be recognized by an intensification of the mentioned side effects and their extension beyond the skin areas treated with the cream.

Immune System Disorders

Very rare:
Acute hypersensitivity reactions including angioedema.
