Dexpanthenol-ratiopharm® Wound Cream

Dexpanthenol-ratiopharm® Wound Cream contains the active ingredient dexpanthenol. Dexpanthenol supports the natural regeneration of the skin and promotes the healing of superficial skin damage.

The wound cream is used to support wound healing and for inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes.

Areas of Application

To support healing in cases of:

• Superficial minor skin damage

• Minor skin injuries

• Inflammation of skin and mucous membranes

• Dry, irritated, and stressed skin

Effect

Dexpanthenol is converted into pantothenic acid in the skin. This plays an important role in the formation and regeneration of skin cells. This can support natural wound healing and strengthen the skin barrier.

Dosage and Application

Unless otherwise prescribed, Dexpanthenol-ratiopharm® Wound Cream is applied thinly to the affected skin areas once to several times a day.

Method of Application

• For application on the skin.

• Apply thinly to the affected areas.

• If necessary, application can be done several times a day.

The duration of use depends on the type and course of the symptoms.

• 50 mg Dexpanthenol

• White petrolatum

• Lanolin – 100 mg

• Wool wax alcohol ointment – 200 mg

• Wool wax alcohols

• Purified water

• Medium-chain triglycerides

• Miglyol® 812

• Imwitor® 600

• Polyglycerol-3-polyricinoleate

• Cetyl alcohol

• Stearyl alcohol

• Potassium sorbate – 2 mg

• Citric acid monohydrate

• Sodium citrate dihydrate

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Dexpanthenol-ratiopharm® Wound Cream can have side effects, but these do not affect everyone.

Rare

• Hypersensitivity reactions of the skin

• Skin redness

• Itching

• Burning sensation of the skin

• Contact allergic reactions

Notes on specific ingredients

Lanolin, wool wax alcohols, cetyl alcohol, and stearyl alcohol can cause localized skin irritation or allergic skin reactions.

If skin irritation, allergic reactions, or a worsening of symptoms occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor if necessary.
