Kaloba® Syrup – herbal help for colds and bronchitis

Kaloba® Syrup contains one of the world's most thoroughly researched herbal extracts for colds and bronchial infections.

The contained root extract from the South African Cape Pelargonium (Pelargonium sidoides) supports the body during respiratory infections and can alleviate typical cold symptoms.

Kaloba® works:

• antivirally

• antibacterially

• as an expectorant

This can improve mucus transport and facilitate coughing up phlegm.

Additionally, Kaloba® can help shorten the duration of colds and prevent secondary infections.

Special Features of Kaloba® Syrup

The contained special extract EPs® 7630 has been studied in numerous trials and demonstrated good tolerability and efficacy – even in children.

The liquid form facilitates administration, especially for young children.

Dosage

Application should ideally begin at the first signs of a cold.

Children from 1 to 5 years:

• 2.5 ml 3 times daily

Children from 6 to 11 years:

• 5 ml 3 times daily

Adolescents from 12 years and adults:

• 7.5 ml 3 times daily

Application should not exceed 3 weeks without medical advice.

Active Ingredient

Dry extract from Pelargonium root (Pelargonii radix), DEV 4–25:1 (EPs® 7630), extracting agent 11% ethanol (m/m).

100 g (= 93.985 ml) syrup contains 0.2506 g dry extract from Pelargonium root.

Excipients

Maltodextrin, xylitol, glycerol 85%, anhydrous citric acid, potassium sorbate, xanthan gum, purified water.

Notes

• Not recommended for children under 1 year of age

• Consult a pediatrician for use in children under 6 years of age

• Clean the measuring cup after each use

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Kaloba® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Possible side effects include:

• Gastrointestinal complaints

• Nausea

• Diarrhea

• Abdominal pain

• Allergic reactions

• Skin rash

In rare cases, liver dysfunctions have been observed.
