MYRRHINIL-INTEST ® Coated Tablets

Traditional herbal medicinal product with myrrh, chamomile and coffee charcoal for the supportive treatment of gastrointestinal complaints with non-specific diarrhoea. For adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over.

Product description

MYRRHINIL-INTEST® combines three traditional herbal active ingredients: myrrh, chamomile flowers and coffee charcoal. The medicinal product is used for gastrointestinal complaints, particularly those accompanied by non-specific diarrhoea.

The plant-based ingredients act on different areas of the gastrointestinal tract and complement each other in their properties.

Indications

MYRRHINIL-INTEST® is traditionally used for the supportive treatment of gastrointestinal complaints with non-specific diarrhoea.

Accompanying symptoms may include:

• Diarrhoea

• Intestinal cramps

• Flatulence

• Discomfort in the gastrointestinal area

Active ingredients

One coated tablet contains:

• 100 mg myrrh

• 50 mg coffee charcoal

• 70 mg dry extract from chamomile flowers (4–6:1); extraction solvent: ethanol 60% (m/m)

Properties of the active ingredients

Myrrh has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties and can help stabilise the intestinal barrier.

Chamomile has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties and can relieve symptoms such as flatulence.

Coffee charcoal has adsorbing and astringent properties.

Dosage and administration

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over take:

4 coated tablets 3 times daily.

Take the tablets unchewed with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of water, before meals.

MYRRHINIL-INTEST® should be used until the stool is again formed.

Use in children

Use in children under 12 years of age is not recommended due to a lack of sufficient data.

Contraindications

MYRRHINIL-INTEST® must not be taken in case of hypersensitivity to:

• Myrrh

• Chamomile or other composites

• Coffee charcoal

• Any of the other ingredients

Patients with certain rare hereditary disorders of sugar metabolism such as fructose/galactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take the medicinal product.

Pregnancy and lactation

As there is insufficient data on use during pregnancy and lactation, taking it during this time is not recommended.

Other ingredients

Ingredients include sucrose, glucose syrup, cellulose powder, calcium carbonate, povidone, macrogol 6000, talc, silicon dioxide, cocoa butter, shellac, stearic acid, yellow wax, carnauba wax and iron oxides.

Important notes

If the diarrhoea lasts longer than 2 days, worsens or is accompanied by fever or blood in the stool, medical advice should be sought.

Keep medicines out of the reach of children. Do not use after the stated expiry date.
